I started Ranger's Apprentice: The Lost Stories. It tells of the lost stories of the Araluen Kingdom. The first story is about the battle that killed Will's father. Halt was told to protect the right and he did, but the enemy people found a weak spot and they charged. He was on the ground and about to be impaled but a soldier saved him. It was Will's father, and after that he went crazy. He downed four enenimies in one sword strike and continued to protect Halt. He killed at least twenty more in a few seconds. He got stabbed, hit, and speared but continued to fight. After he ended up dying, Halt went to that guy's wife house to tell her what happened and found out she died giving birth to Will who turned out to be the best Ranger ever to walk.
Vocab- verandah-a roofed platform along the outside of a house, level with the ground floor
